She paid me a postpartum visit, demonstrated the art of belly-wrapping and dropped off some DELICIOUS postpartum meals Best of all, I got a typed story of my birth to give my baby. I will always treasure that. Thank you, Fatima, you will never know how much you mean to us.  – Shannon

Postpartum Support

As a doula and birth worker, I believe in the central importance of the postpartum period to the healing, nurturing and creation of a new mother and a new family. With the right kind of support and care, new parents can be celebrated and supported in a vulnerable phase of their life.

Our modern-day culture has finally started to appreciate the unique and global traditions passed down throughout generations specifically for the postpartum period. This is the time to nourish new parents, watch them bond with their baby and allow them to take life at a gentler pace. I offer the following postpartum support packages to my birth doula clients:

Postpartum Care Packages

My care packages includes 3-4 items from a list of healing soups, stews, teas, snacks and homemade body care products made especially for you. These packages make a great gift. Menu offerings include (but are not limited to) Creamy Squash Lentil Soup, warming Chicken & Wild Rice Soup, Mother’s Quinoa Bowl, Broths, Ginger Turmeric Tea, Cinnamon Hibiscus Tea and an Herbal Sitz Bath Mix.

Postpartum Doula Care

Postpartum doula care looks like an extra set of hands for your postpartum period- the Fourth Trimester. In these visits, I help you adjust to new motherhood, navigate newborn basics, process your birth experience and figure out breastfeeding basics. I care for you and your baby so that you can rest and replenish your energy. I help you calm your fears and anxiety so that you are able to rest and heal after the marathon run that birth is.

My postpartum visits are in shifts of 3-4 hours at $40/hour for birth doula clients and $50/hour for postpartum clients. Packages of 10-30 hours postpartum care are available.
